December family fun

(disclaimer:  all of these pictures were taken with my crappy phone camera)
Lots to do, lots to do!         We had friends over for dinner and poor lil' Lukie wanted to sit at the table with us while we were chatting but he just couldn't stay awake!
and HERE are the pics of SANTA that I couldn't find when I did the Birch Aquarium post..oh well, at least they're on here at all!

Daddy sang/performed in the Del Mar Stake Christmas Program.  It was fantastic!  Beautiful singing and quite a production!  Can't wait til next year!
Since starting Cub Scouts after turning 8, Chance is absolutely ON FIRE about Scouts!  He LOVES it! He received his BOBCAT within the 1st month of becoming a scout and was so excited to receive it and  was even more excited about the ceremony!
Chance wore his football pads for several days after Christmas..so funny.
During Daddy's Va-Ca the week in between Christmas and New Year's, we had wonderful family time!  One day in particular we packed a ton of fun in!  First, we went to the San Diego Zoo.  We have always loved the zoo and have had passes since moving here.  The kids (and us) never get tired of going!  The animals are always so much fun!  Above you can see Tim (in the blue shirt) looking at the gorillas that were right up on the glass...
The boys got a kick out of the big male that had his butt up against the glass!

Luke's fav, the polar bears.  There wasn't much action with them that day, but playing around in the 'ice caves' are always a fav too!  Above Luke is with a SEAL!!

Second, we went to Balboa Park and went to the Air and Space Museum.  Look, it's Lukie naked!  We laughed so hard at this cuz Luke is just about as skinny and the same height as this alien!
And when we were leaving there was this guy hanging out at the exit wearing a head to toe alien costume that looked quite good!  I quickly took a pic with my iphone as we were walking out so it's a bit blurry.
Third, we were off to Cabrillo National Monument and the tidepools!  Bummer we got there after low tide but we still enjoyed our time there very much.  It is always so beautiful there...look at that BLUE sky!!!

This is where the tidepools 'should' be when the tide is out.

Up at the Cabrillo National Monument lookout and museum.  Another place my kids never get tired of going to.
playing around on my phone with the enhancements from an app i downloaded...

Fourth (and final) we went to Lucha Libre Taco Shop in San Diego.  It's famous!  It's been on the food network, I think on Man vs. Food.  HUGE DELICIOUSO Burritos!!!!  And the place is decorated with tons of Mexican Wrestling items.

Including the bathrooms!  They have a "Champion" booth that is all gold and gaudy and the kids wanted to sit there but it's booked for days ahead-you have to reserve it.  Bummer!  Maybe next time!

Such an amazing day.  And if I remember correctly (it was 5 months ago) the boys were extremely good that day.  I love going and doing things with them around the county...there is so much to do here!  (And the museum and Cabrillo were FREE too!)
