In October while Tim was in Europe, I decided to take my new Jetta on a little road trip up to Flagstaff to see my sister and her family. Turns out that Troy (he's on the High Council in their stake) had to go to The Grand Canyon branch to speak the weekend we went to visit them. So, we went with them! Between their family and us we tripled the size of their branch; it was so tiny! Chance and Luke thought it was cool because they got to go to Priesthood since they had no Primary. Before we left for The Grand Canyon, Luke got plenty of cuddles in with Aspen, Troy's dog. She is a sweetheart and Luke couldn't get enough of her. The day trip to The Grand Canyon was super fun, especially since my boys don't ever remember going there (they were only 2 and 4 the last time we went). My my you forget the beauty of it all and just how breathtaking it is after you haven't been there for a while!
Driving on the highway there were elk about 30 feet from the road. Beautiful animals.
Isn't it amazing? No filter or added color here! I love the shadows the clouds made in the canyon.
Something spectacular about the canyon besides its sheer size and beauty, is that it looks incredibly different from even the smallest difference of an angle.
It was so chilly to us; we were bundled up in sweatshirts! But the Ponds seem to be completely used to the cooler weather, of course.
Brady was cracking us up the whole day. He does an amazing British accent and he talked that way the entire day, in public even. Oh my goodness he was funny.
We had a picnic after church. Dee Dee made delicious food (as always) and we had such a nice time, especially for a last minute deal!
Brady and Chance Tebowing...not sure what Nate is doing...the rest of us just being silly.
Our only regret was that Daddy wasn't there to share it with us...we will have to make another trip soon so we can go together!
